I am a Trade Union Activist through & through.

I will bring my work experience and Union Leadership experience to the opportunity as one of the two Canada Employment and Immigration (CEIU) Ontario National Vice-Presidents (NVPs) in 2017.

I will speak up to make sure our voice is heard when meeting with CEIU National Executive.

This is a unique time, trusteeship has not been an easy road, but it has presented an opportunity to break with the past.

The following opportunities have given me the skills and the knowledge to embrace and succeed as a Union Leader that I will bring to the NVP position:

Serving as member of our PA Bargaining Team -- we achieved a tentative deal with NO concessions, OUR sick leave has NOT changed;

President of Local 00570 Mississauga Service Canada since 2009.

Allow me to be your Voice when the Union faces Employer at all Regional Union Management Meetings as I am a Trade Union Activist through & through. I will make sure the concerns for CEIU Ontario members; all of us - the Canada Employment and Immigration Union (C.E.I.U.) Membership who are employed at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (I.R.C.C.), the Immigration Refugee Board (I.R.B.) and Employment and Social Development Canada - Service Canada (E.S.D.C./S.C.) is heard.

Education should be one of the most important things that we need to ensure continues and is funded for members to get the information and tools then use the knowledge to grow the and develop their own experiences and expertise.

I am asking for your vote, for the privilege of servicing and working with YOU. I pledge to work with my counterpart, with our Locals and the Ontario Regional Council. I ask for your vote so that we can continue making sure the voice of CEIU Ontario will be heard once again.

A better Union -- A better CEIU

In Solidarity Always,

Travis Lahnalampi
